The People's Bank of China’s Party Committee convened a themed guidance lecture and theoretical study meeting as part of a system-wide education effort on implementing the Central Eight-Point Regulation and its implementing rules, centred on strengthening conduct and discipline. An official from the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and National Supervisory Commission delivered the briefing, followed by a leadership discussion on applying the requirements to support high-quality financial development. Governor and Party Secretary Pan Gongsheng chaired the session and called for stronger awareness and execution of the Eight-Point Regulation, clearer political accountability, tighter guidance and supervision, more grassroots research, and stricter implementation of the Regulation on Practising Thrift and Opposing Waste in Party and Government Organs. The programme was also linked to follow-up work on rectifying issues identified through central inspection, combining remediation of key problems with institutional improvements; Discipline Inspection Group head Qu Jishan also delivered remarks, and participants included officials from the State Administration of Foreign Exchange and across the central bank’s departments, branches and affiliated units.
