The Tanzania Capital Markets and Securities Authority announced that it facilitated a six-week capital markets certification program in Dar es Salaam for staff of Burundi’s Capital Market Regulatory Authority and Burundian capital market practitioners. The program was delivered by the Tanzanian authority under a certification recognized by the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment of the United Kingdom. It certified 29 participants from Burundi and gives them an internationally recognized mark of professional competence and integrity, with eligibility to offer services in securities markets across East Africa and internationally. A total of 93 candidates completed the Securities Industry Certification Course, including the 29 participants from Burundi. The authorities linked the initiative to cooperation under the East African Securities Regulatory Authorities framework, with a focus on building market expertise, strengthening professional standards and supporting the development of Burundi’s capital market industry. The Tanzania Capital Markets and Securities Authority and Burundi’s Capital Market Regulatory Authority reaffirmed continued collaboration on capacity building, regulatory alignment and market development to support deeper integration of East African capital markets.

The Tanzania Capital Markets and Securities Authority said it facilitated a six-week, Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment recognized certification program in Dar es Salaam for Burundi regulator staff and market practitioners. Twenty-nine participants from Burundi were among 93 candidates certified, gaining eligibility to offer securities market services across East Africa and internationally. The initiative forms part of East African regulatory cooperation on capacity building and market development.
