The Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation (GLEIF) announced Dataswyft as the winner of the Global vLEI Hackathon in the Trade, Supply Chain, and SME Finance category, recognising a solution that uses GLEIF’s verifiable Legal Entity Identifier (vLEI) to reduce friction in micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) financing through verifiable digital records. AEOTrade (Beijing) Technology Co., Ltd. was named runner-up for integrating the vLEI with blockchain in its “AEOTrade Chain+vLEI” model to secure and verify electronic bills of lading across international supply chains. More than 110 submissions were received from teams worldwide, highlighting use cases where the vLEI enables organisations to prove identity and authority instantly and embed transparency and trust into cross-border trade processes, supporting authenticity, compliance, and collaboration.
