The National Bank of Moldova put into circulation a silver commemorative coin marking the 35th anniversary of the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova. The coin is legal tender and is also intended for numismatic purposes. Speaking at the academy’s anniversary event and an international conference on competitiveness and innovation, First Deputy Governor Petru Rotaru emphasized the role of economic research and professional training in responsible policymaking. He cited Moldova’s connection to the Single Euro Payments Area and the development of the MIA Instant Payments system as examples of innovation delivering practical benefits to citizens and businesses.
