The Central Bank of Cyprus (CBC), in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth, held educational workshops in Nicosia for sixth-grade primary school students to mark World Savings Day, aiming to build awareness of saving and basic money management. Students from the border primary schools of Athienou and Troulloi participated. The programme comprised four workshops on savings and financial planning delivered through experiential and group activities, designed and implemented on a voluntary basis by the Cyprus Association of Economist Teachers and Junior Achievement Cyprus. The CBC positioned the event as part of its wider financial literacy work, which it coordinates through its chairing of the Cyprus Financial Literacy and Education Committee (CECHOP). The central bank indicated it will continue working with partners on targeted actions to strengthen financial literacy.
