The National Bank of Serbia published third-quarter 2025 data on the IPS NBS instant payment system, showing continued growth in usage and transaction values and an expansion of the participant network. The system processed 27.3 million instant payments, 25.7% more than in the third quarter of 2024, with the value of payments reaching RSD 357.1bn. The release highlighted a five-year pattern of third-quarter growth, with the number of payments rising by an average of 25.8% year on year and values by an average of 39.9%. In Q3 2025, Danube-Union d.o.o. Belgrade joined IPS NBS as an indirect participant; average transaction value was RSD 13,097 and the average daily number of payments was 296,389, with a quarterly daily peak of 497,287 payments on 15 September and a subsequent system record of 565,213 payments on 14 November 2025. The NBS also reiterated the main IPS NBS use cases, including QR-code bill payments, in-store and online acceptance via IPS Scan and IPS Show, and the Transfer service using a recipient’s mobile phone number.
