Chile's Financial Market Commission (CMF) launched a call for academics, researchers, professionals, and students to submit papers and participate in its annual conference, “100 Years of Banking Supervision: A Look at the Past, Present, and Future of Financial Intermediation,” to be held on June 26–27, 2025 at the University of Chile’s Faculty of Economics and Business. The first day will centre on the presentation and discussion of research papers on topics relevant to the development and stability of the financial system, while the second day will feature presentations and panel discussions with authorities, academics, and national and international experts on achievements and remaining challenges in banking supervision and regulation in Chile. Papers may be finished or in progress and must be submitted in PDF format with an abstract by May 2, 2025; submissions are free of charge and will be peer reviewed and selected by the organising committee, with selected works assigned to a commentator for feedback during the conference. The CMF and the Faculty of Economics and Business indicated they will not provide financial support to selected researchers. The CMF will publish the conference agenda and registration information on its website in the coming days.
