The Tanzania Insurance Regulatory Authority (TIRA) and CRDB Bank have agreed to complete the preparation of agricultural insurance regulations and to strengthen the skills of specialists involved in delivering agricultural insurance in Tanzania. The agreement was reached at a meeting on 11 August 2025 between Tanzania’s Insurance Commissioner, Dr Baghayo Saqware, and CRDB Bank Chief Executive Officer, Abdulmajid Nsekela, at the bank’s headquarters in Dar es Salaam. The work is framed as implementation of a 2024 memorandum of understanding between the two organisations, which sets out cooperation on agricultural policy reform, insurance product development, and capacity building.
