The Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo said Governor Ahmet Ismaili met Toronto Centre President and Chief Executive Officer Babak Abbaszadeh to explore cooperation on institutional capacity building, professional development and the exchange of international expertise and best practices. The meeting took place during the 2026 Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank Group in Bangkok. Discussions covered potential technical assistance and professional training to support the central bank’s strategic priorities. Ismaili outlined ongoing reforms focused on strengthening institutional capacity, advancing regulatory and supervisory practices and further aligning them with international standards. The two sides agreed to continue discussions to identify areas of mutual interest.
