The Tanzania Insurance Regulatory Authority (TIRA) took part as guest of honour at the 41st Form Six graduation ceremony at Jangwani Girls Secondary School in Dar es Salaam, using the event to promote insurance awareness and signal continued collaboration with the school. Speaking on behalf of the Commissioner of Insurance, TIRA’s Eastern Zone Manager pledged that TIRA and insurance sector stakeholders would provide support aligned to needs identified by the school, including furniture such as tables and chairs, health insurance for some students with disabilities, and assistance for construction of a dining hall. The authority also encouraged teachers, parents and students to use insurance products, including life and general insurance, to manage unexpected risks, and invited the school community to TIRA offices for further seminars. TIRA framed the engagement as part of its strategy to extend insurance education to children and young people through ongoing seminars and meetings with students and higher education institutions.
