The Tanzania Insurance Regulatory Authority (TIRA) reported that Insurance Commissioner Dr Baghayo Saqware has started a special tour of the authority’s ten regional zones to review zonal performance and the availability of insurance services, with a focus on ensuring insurance reaches all citizens. The tour formally began on 9 November 2025 in the Southern Zone and Southern Highlands Zone. On 13 November 2025, the Commissioner and other TIRA leaders visited the Lake Tanganyika Zone, which serves Katavi, Rukwa and Kigoma, held a meeting to assess insurance services including implementation of the universal health insurance programme, and inspected a designated site for construction of the zone’s offices.
