The Securities and Exchange Board of India has required all stock brokers to prominently display regulator-provided investor awareness messages on their websites and trading apps under Project Jagrook. The phased requirements begin Oct. 5, 2026, with permanent landing-page obligations taking effect Nov. 1, 2026. From Oct. 5 through Oct. 31, brokers must display the investor awareness messages alongside existing risk disclosures on their websites. Display on trading apps is voluntary during this period, and a broker that shows an awareness message on a particular day may omit the risk disclosure that day. From Nov. 1, websites must carry the awareness messages on their landing pages, while trading apps must alternate between the awareness messages and risk disclosures on their landing pages. Stock exchanges and depositories must display the messages as provided by the regulator, notify their members or participants and make the necessary amendments to their rules. The Securities and Exchange Board of India may modify the messages from time to time, while the remaining requirements under its May 2023 risk disclosure circular remain unchanged.
