The Argentina Superintendency of Insurance published an update on the XXXVII Annual Assembly of the Association of Latin American Insurance Supervisors (ASSAL) held on 17 April in San José, where members ratified the incorporation of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) as an adherent member. The note describes NAIC, which brings together US insurance regulators and supervisors, as a new direct counterpart for ASSAL and frames the accession as expanding opportunities for technical cooperation and exchange of supervisory experience. It also points to work toward convergence with international standards amid rapid sector change and emerging risks, highlighting technological innovation, financial inclusion and insurance market resilience as areas for coordinated action, and notes NAIC officials’ support for closer cross-jurisdictional cooperation and a shared agenda.
