The Central Bank of Nicaragua maintained the Monetary Reference Rate at 5.75 percent, leaving its signal for the cost of one day córdoba liquidity operations unchanged. It also kept the rates on its one day Monetary Repo and Monetary Deposit facilities at 7.00 percent and 4.50 percent, respectively, for córdoba operations without value maintenance. The decision reflects continued domestic economic growth, supported by internal demand, merchandise exports, private sector credit and external inflows, alongside low unemployment and inflation expected to remain low and stable. The central bank also cited strong international reserves, currency and exchange rate stability, and supportive conditions for financial intermediation. External inflation stemming from geopolitical and trade tensions, tighter global monetary policy and potential climate effects on domestic prices remain key risks.
