The Oman Financial Services Authority said the Dhamani platform has begun electronic integration with pharmacies, allowing electronic prescriptions for health insurance claims to be sent directly and securely between private healthcare facilities, pharmacies and insurance companies through the platform. The move marks Phase II of the Dhamani project and creates a fully digital process covering prescription issuance, pharmacy fulfilment, claims processing and settlement without paper-based steps. Phase II has expanded pharmacy connectivity to about 60%, with 271 pharmacies registered on the platform. The new service lets pharmacies receive prescriptions digitally from healthcare facilities rather than through paper documents, while the platform also supports electronic approvals, financial claims and settlements among pharmacies, insurers and healthcare providers. The authority said this reduces reliance on paper-based procedures by up to 98%. The release described Phase II as the first fully integrated digital journey of its kind in the Gulf Cooperation Council, spanning the full chain from prescription issuance to settlement of pharmacy dues through the Dhamani platform.
