The Insurance and Private Pension Regulation and Supervision Agency of Türkiye (SEDDK) reported high-level participation in the establishment of the Turkic World Insurance Union in Shusha, Azerbaijan, a new body formed by eight states to advance cooperation in insurance and reinsurance. The Union’s stated areas of activity include strengthening insurance and reinsurance relationships, cooperation on technology and digitalisation, and experience sharing and joint projects across all insurance lines, including agricultural and natural disaster insurance. In remarks at a panel attended by the heads of member-country insurance authorities, SEDDK Chairman Davut Mentes highlighted Türkiye’s technology infrastructure, digital applications and experience in natural disaster and agricultural insurance, and indicated Türkiye’s readiness to support member authorities, including by sharing supervisory, inspection and regulatory practices developed over the past two years.
