The Bank of the Lao published an update on Governor Bounkham Vorachit’s working visits in southern and central Laos, combining outreach with supervisory follow-up on the promotion of the Lao kip and compliance with rules on foreign currency management. In Champasak province, the governor attended the fifth annual Coffee, Tea and Agricultural Products Festival in Pakxong and met stakeholders including coffee producers and collectors focused on exports, alongside follow-up on kip usage promotion and foreign exchange management requirements within the remit of the Bank of the Lao’s southern regional unit. In Savannakhet province, the governor met with the Bank of the Lao’s central regional unit and more than 70 participants, including head office staff and representatives of commercial bank branches and financial institutions, reviewed reported implementation results and challenges, and called for a focus on internal coordination and the translation of higher-level and party resolutions into operational planning, including five-year planning and the 2026 annual plan.
