Norway's Ministry of Finance has appointed Professor Hilde Christiane Bjørnland as an external member of Norges Bank’s Committee for Monetary Policy and Financial Stability for the term 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2029. The appointment follows the end of Ingvild Almås’ second and final term on 31 December 2025. The committee exercises Norges Bank’s executive and advisory authority in monetary policy, including the use of instruments to meet monetary policy objectives, and contributes to financial stability through advice and the tools available to it. It has five members: the Governor, two Deputy Governors and two external members, and it is chaired by the Governor; from 1 January 2026 the membership will be Governor Ida Wolden Bache (chair), Deputy Governor Pål Longva (first deputy chair), Deputy Governor Øystein Børsum (second deputy chair), Professor Steinar Holden (external member, 1 January 2024 to 31 December 2027) and Professor Hilde Christiane Bjørnland (external member, 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2029).
