The Australian Securities & Investments Commission has obtained Federal Court travel restraint orders against Darren Geddes, a Gold Coast-based director of Global Investment Marketing Pty Ltd (GIM), preventing him from leaving or attempting to leave Australia until 16 March 2026 as part of an investigation into the company. The orders were made on ASIC’s application and were not opposed by Mr Geddes. ASIC is investigating GIM and its current and former directors for their roles in the alleged misappropriation of funds deposited by customers for investment purposes, and sought the restraints due to concerns Mr Geddes might leave Australia and be unavailable to assist the investigation.
