The China Securities Regulatory Commission said Chairman Wu Qing met John Graham, president and chief executive of CPP Investments, in Beijing and exchanged views on global and Chinese economic and financial conditions and investment in China’s capital markets. In the meeting, Wu restated that the CSRC will maintain the stable and healthy operation of the capital market, steadily expand high-level institutional opening-up and continue improving the convenience of foreign participation in the market. Wu said China’s economy was broadly stable in the first half of the year and continued to move toward newer and higher-quality growth despite a complex international environment. He welcomed international institutional investors, including CPP Investments, to expand their investment in China. Graham said CPP Investments, as a globally invested long-term institution, remains highly focused on China, considers it an important region in its global portfolio and will continue investing in China with a value-investing approach.
