Ghana's Ministry of Finance has inaugurated the Board of the Ghana Deposit Protection Corporation (GDPC), formalising the Corporation’s governance arrangements for overseeing deposit protection aimed at safeguarding depositors and supporting public confidence in the financial system. The Board is chaired by Bank of Ghana Governor Dr. Johnson Pandit Asiamah and includes GDPC Chief Executive Officer Galahad Alex Andoh, Ministry of Finance representative Prosper Ayinbilla Awuni, Benjamin Amenumey, and Paul Kwasi Agyemang. Dr. Asiamah indicated the Board will prioritise transparency and good governance and plans to deploy innovative tools, including exploring artificial intelligence and integrating environmental, social and governance principles, to improve GDPC operations.
