The Central Bank of Uruguay’s Sustainable Finance Roundtable (Mesa de Finanzas Sostenibles) ran an in-person training programme for its member institutions, including banks, pension funds and insurers, to strengthen climate risk management and disclosure practices aligned with international methodologies and standards. The sessions took place on 10–12 November and were supported by the URU/24/002 Readiness IV Climate Finance project, funded by the Green Climate Fund and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme in coordination with the Ministry of Environment, the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the central bank. A separate internal workshop for Central Bank of Uruguay staff provided an overview of the topic and aimed to reinforce institutional capabilities on climate-related risks, and the programme covered national and international case studies as well as key challenges and opportunities for the local market.
