The Commodity Futures Trading Commission has launched enhancements to its electronic filing system for product self-certifications that allow exchanges to submit a single set of certification documents for multiple comparable contracts in one consolidated filing. The update is meant to simplify how the agency receives and reviews self-certifications as the number of new and innovative products increases. Exchanges no longer need to submit multiple copies of identical product certification documents across numerous filings. The CFTC expects the change to reduce duplication and save time for both exchanges and the Commission, and linked it to the administrative goal of eliminating bureaucratic duplication and inefficiency set out in Executive Order 14243. Updated submission instructions are available through the CFTC portal.
