Uzbekistan's Ministry of Finance has reported a meeting with Turkey's Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and the TARSIM insurance fund focused on strengthening Uzbekistan's agricultural insurance system, with the sides agreeing to prepare a joint roadmap for continued cooperation. The talks centred on priorities for maintaining a risk-based and sustainable insurance framework for agriculture in light of climate change. Discussions focused on upgrading the skills of agricultural insurance staff and improving efficiency across the insurance process, including application handling, damage assessment and claims payments. The ministry also highlighted that Uzbekistan adopted a Law on Insurance of Agricultural Risks in April 2025 and established a new Agricultural Insurance Fund in November to oversee the sector. The Turkish side indicated that it is ready to organise training courses for Uzbek specialists through TARSIM. The planned joint roadmap is intended to support ongoing cooperation and implementation of the measures discussed.
