The Reserve Bank of Australia published its balance sheet for close of business on Wednesday, 22 July 2026, showing total assets and liabilities of AUD 360.2 billion, up AUD 561 million over the week. On the liabilities side, Exchange Settlement balances fell AUD 14.3 billion to AUD 190.7 billion, while deposits excluding Exchange Settlement balances rose AUD 12.3 billion to AUD 61.0 billion. Notes on issue increased AUD 124 million to AUD 107.6 billion, and other liabilities rose AUD 2.6 billion to AUD 13.9 billion. On the asset side, gold and foreign exchange increased AUD 2.6 billion to AUD 111.9 billion, with the weekly rise mainly reflecting the Bank's transactions in gold and foreign exchange, including under swaps, and foreign securities. Australian dollar investments fell AUD 2.3 billion to AUD 244.8 billion, mainly reflecting securities transactions, while other assets including clearing items rose AUD 318 million to AUD 3.5 billion. Other reserves and current year earnings moved down AUD 156 million to negative AUD 13.0 billion.
