The Central Bank of Peru published updated labour market indicators showing that total formal employment nationwide increased 5% year on year in January 2025, adding 283,000 jobs versus January 2024 and extending the recovery in formal employment to ten consecutive months. Formal private-sector employment rose 6.7% year on year. The largest job gains were recorded in agriculture (+118,000), services (+75,000) and commerce (+26,000), based on electronic payroll data sourced from SUNAT.
