The Tanzania Insurance Regulatory Authority published remarks from Insurance Commissioner Dr Baghayo Saqware welcoming the launch of Mufti Bima Foundation, a health insurance fund established by BAKWATA to help Tanzanians with special needs afford treatment costs. The authority framed the initiative as supporting the government's drive to deliver health insurance for all. Speaking at the launch event at BAKWATA headquarters in Dar es Salaam, Saqware said TIRA views the new fund as consistent with the government's vision under President Samia Suluhu Hassan to ensure all Tanzanians have access to health insurance services. He also praised Health Minister Mohamed Mchengerwa for his role in guiding implementation of the health insurance for all agenda and said BAKWATA's initiative under the Mufti and Chief Sheikh of Tanzania, Abubakar Zuber Ali Mbwana, would help the government pursue that objective.
