The Central Bank of Argentina published consumer guidance on assessing personal and other loans before signing a contract. Borrowers should compare interest rates, total financing costs, repayment periods, installments and fees across providers, with the total financing cost capturing interest, insurance, commissions and other charges. The guidance urges borrowers to review contractual rights and obligations, payment terms and the consequences of late payment, and to retain a copy of the agreement. Applicants whose credit is rejected may check the central bank’s Debtor Registry for reported debts and request that the reporting institution correct or update inaccurate information.
