The European Financial Reporting Advisory Group (EFRAG) has opened two calls for expression of interest aimed at supporting wider market uptake of the Voluntary reporting standard for SMEs (VSME) across the EU. Stakeholders can respond until 5 April 2026. The first call seeks to map existing or in-development initiatives that support SMEs’ voluntary sustainability reporting, including sustainability reporting digital platforms, ESG data platforms that match demand and supply of ESG data and aggregate preparer and user sustainability data, and other relevant initiatives such as access to data banks like waste registers. The second call targets existing or in-development digital tools, including greenhouse gas calculators, geolocation tools, and tools to identify water-stress, biodiversity-sensitive areas and climate risks; both calls build on stakeholder feedback gathered in the VSME Market Acceptance Progress Report and on EFRAG’s 2025 mappings of platforms, initiatives and tools.
