The Kuwait Capital Markets Authority has issued amendments to provisions governing bonds and sukuk and approved related changes to EGX rules, creating the legislative framework for issuing these instruments on the stock exchange and for launching a platform to list and trade them. The changes include revisions to disclosure requirements for listed bonds and sukuk in Module Ten to clarify the procedures issuers or obligors must follow, including on financial statements. The package also amends Article 5-8 of Module Eleven and provisions in Module Twelve to regulate listing procedures, including listing conditions, listing applications, the listing of bond and sukuk units on a non-Kuwaiti stock exchange, and delisting, as well as related fees through changes to Appendix No. 4 of Module Two. In parallel, the approved EGX rule changes cover Chapter VII on listing, Chapter VIII on market sections and indicators, Chapter IX on trading rules, and Chapter Ten on dealing in securities.
