The Brazilian Superintendence of Private Insurance (SUSEP) published the final report of its Working Group on a National Policy for Access to Insurance, consolidating discussions and recommendations intended to support regulatory improvements and an institutional and market strategy for expanding access to insurance in Brazil. Created under Ordinance No. 8,324/2024, the working group set up a dialogue channel bringing together a broad set of stakeholders, including insurers, policyholders, insurance brokers, reinsurers, insurtechs, specialists and public authorities. After more than two months of meetings, the report compiles the main barriers identified for insurance market growth and the proposals collected to widen access to insurance, both quantitatively and qualitatively, for more Brazilian citizens and companies. SUSEP indicated that the National Policy for Access to Insurance will remain a supervisory priority and that it will continue to receive suggestions through an open feedback channel.
