The Croatian National Bank has opened a free of charge facility to exchange Bulgarian lev (BGN) into euro in the context of Bulgaria joining the Eurosystem on 1 January 2026. The service runs from 2 January to 2 March 2026 and applies the fixed conversion rate. Exchange is available at BGN 1.95583 per EUR 1, with a maximum of BGN 2,000 per person and transaction per day, and is carried out at the CNB’s cash desk in Zagreb during 08:30 to 15:30, Monday to Friday. Coins and banknotes that no longer have legal tender status are not eligible, and the CNB may require proof of origin for banknote exchange transactions.

The Croatian National Bank has initiated a free facility to exchange Bulgarian lev into euro at a fixed rate of BGN 1.95583 per EUR 1, from 2 January to 2 March 2026, with a daily limit of BGN 2,000 per person at its Zagreb cash desk. Coins and non-legal tender banknotes are excluded, and proof of origin may be required for banknote exchanges.
