The Central Bank of Brunei Darussalam (BDCB) and Brunei Darussalam’s Ministry of Finance and Economy have issued a joint warning that an article on www.capital-brain-ai.pro titled “Brunei Darussalam government launches government bond platform” and dated 6 October 2025 is false, and urged the public to verify information before trusting similar claims. The release highlights potential criminal liability for impersonation-related fraud under Section 419 of the Penal Code (imprisonment up to seven years and a fine) and for disseminating false information likely to cause public alarm under Section 34 of the Public Order Act (a fine of BND 3,000 or up to three years’ imprisonment, or both). It also directs the public to report suspicious financial activity through BDCB’s consumer channels and notes that BDCB’s website publishes a list of licensed financial institutions and individuals, as well as a BDCB alert list.
