The Argentina Securities Commission (CNV) published an account of remarks by President Roberto E. Silva and Director Laura Herbón at a global and regional corporate governance summit. Silva reviewed the CNV’s deregulation and modernization of Argentina’s capital markets, including regulatory simplification, lower costs and faster access to financing. Herbón addressed the role of corporate governance in supporting transparency and the development of capital markets. The reforms discussed included measures affecting issuers, financial trusts and mutual funds, as well as the removal of foreign exchange restrictions, a safe harbor for private offerings, automatic offerings and the Fiscal Innocence Regime. Silva also referred to rules for Labor Assistance Funds, virtual asset service providers, tokenization and market intermediaries, including settlement and clearing agents and negotiating agents. Herbón emphasized dialogue with market participants to support the evolution of corporate governance practices and alignment with international standards.
