The Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan has adopted a financial sector code that establishes a common ethical and professional conduct framework for all industry professionals. The code also supports supervised entities in improving existing internal codes or developing new ones. Developed under the 2024-2026 Financial Sector Development Strategy, the code sets out eight ethical principles, six professional conduct rules and an implementation mechanism. It covers professionals’ conduct toward customers, financial institutions, other professionals, the law, society and the environment.
