The Central Bank of Bahrain hosted an official visit by Bermuda’s Premier David Burt, received by Governor Khalid Humaidan in the presence of Bahrain’s Minister of Industry and Commerce Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, with discussions centred on strengthening bilateral cooperation in financial and banking matters. During the meeting, the Premier highlighted Bahrain’s progress in financial services and the Central Bank’s role in financial stability and regulatory development, calling for greater exchange of expertise and cooperation. The Governor presented an overview of Bahrain’s financial services sector, including its legislative and regulatory framework and the Central Bank’s licensing, supervisory and regulatory policies, and also set out the Central Bank’s work to support financial innovation and sector infrastructure, including digital transformation and improvements to the business environment. Both sides affirmed their intention to continue coordination and cooperation to support shared economic and financial development.
