The Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission published an update on its 12th Corporate Governance Forum, held on November 21 at its Makati City headquarters, framing cross-sector collaboration as central to strengthening corporate governance standards and sustainability-oriented decision-making. Held with partners including the Institute of Corporate Directors, Global Reporting Initiative, United Nations Development Programme, United Nations Children’s Fund, the Philippine Sustainability Reporting Committee and Komunidad, the programme covered governance best practices, sustainability integration, insights from the 2024 ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard assessment and regulatory updates from the Commission. UNICEF Philippines focused on integrating child rights in business operations, while a technical workshop led by the Global Reporting Initiative addressed how to align International Sustainability Standards Board and Global Reporting Initiative sustainability reporting standards. The event ended with the 2025 Gender and Development Awards, recognising Monde Nissin Corporation, Hypertech Wire and Cable, Inc. and Alalay sa Kaunlaran Mutual Benefit Association, Inc. for Most Women Directors/Trustees, and naming Cynthia G. Casiño of Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation and Maria Yolanda Crisanto of Globe Telecom, Inc. as Private Sector Sustainability Champions.
