The China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission's Communist Party committee convened its 2026 system inspection work meeting and related training session, launching the sixth and seventh rounds of inspections and setting priorities for the year’s internal oversight work. The plan centers on political supervision across the regulator’s system, with inspections to focus on implementation of top-level directives, execution of the commission’s work arrangements, coordination of risk prevention, stronger regulation and high-quality development, as well as Party governance, leadership and talent teams, grassroots Party organizations, and remediation of problems identified by prior inspections and audits. The meeting called for inspections to strengthen their deterrent effect, depth and ability to drive corrective action. Review work will examine whether units promptly study key directives, translate them into measures tied to their responsibilities, push implementation forward and deliver tangible results. It also stressed a problem-oriented approach, strict follow-up on rectification, closer coordination across oversight channels, and stronger standardization, legality and discipline in inspection work. Inspection team leaders were formally authorized and task allocations were issued for the two rounds. Teams were also instructed to proceed on a fact-based basis, coordinate closely, operate within their authority and procedures, and tighten management and discipline of inspection staff during the 2026 program.
