The South African Reserve Bank published its monthly statement of assets and liabilities, reporting total assets of ZAR 1,292,080,084,930 as at 30 November 2025, down from ZAR 1,296,292,666,306 a month earlier. On the asset side, total gold and foreign assets fell by ZAR 6,370,392,438 to ZAR 1,233,660,763,136, driven by a ZAR 12,304,554,029 decline in foreign exchange reserves (excluding special drawing rights) to ZAR 834,119,222,366 and a ZAR 1,371,325,030 drop in SDR holdings to ZAR 111,302,920,052, partly offset by a ZAR 7,305,486,621 increase in the rand value of gold to ZAR 288,238,620,718. On the liabilities side, notes and coin in circulation decreased by ZAR 6,200,346,973 to ZAR 169,226,050,088, while deposits by banks rose by ZAR 22,915,012,802 to ZAR 347,828,315,461; “other” deposits fell by ZAR 32,279,256,144 to ZAR 53,330,023,433.

The South African Reserve Bank's monthly statement reported total assets of ZAR 1.29 trillion as of 30 November 2025, a slight decrease from the previous month. Key changes included a decline in foreign exchange reserves and SDR holdings, partially offset by an increase in the rand value of gold.
