Rwanda Capital Markets Authority has renewed its strategic partnership with the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) by signing a new Memorandum of Understanding that sets a capacity-building framework for Rwanda’s capital markets, including mandatory qualifications and an annual continuing professional development (CPD) requirement linked to licensing. The agreement introduces a three-part licensing pathway for capital markets practitioners comprising CISI’s International Introduction to Securities & Investment qualification, an updated Rwanda Regulatory Assessment, and a role-specific technical unit aligned with international standards. CPD will become a condition for licence renewal. The MoU was signed at CISI’s London headquarters during a high-level visit organised by TheCityUK under the Kigali International Financial Centre (KIFC) Skills Council initiative, focused on addressing financial services skills gaps.
