Thailand's Office of Insurance Commission has expanded its model road safety community initiative to Nakhon Sawan Municipality and Takhli Subdistrict Administrative Organization. The program brings communities, public agencies and insurers together to identify recurring accident locations, develop locally tailored prevention measures and improve awareness of rights and coverage under compulsory motor insurance. Community workshops identified several high-risk locations along Phahonyothin Road, including junctions, U-turns, a school frontage and village access points. Proposed measures include lower speeds near schools and communities, improved signs and warnings, safer pedestrian facilities, better management of U-turns and access points, and continued local monitoring. Participants also highlighted speeding, sudden lane changes, wrong-way driving and failure to wear motorcycle helmets as key behavioral risks. The initiative covers six communities across Prachin Buri, Nakhon Nayok, Nakhon Sawan and Suphan Buri in 2026. The Office of Insurance Commission will consolidate local data and proposals, coordinate with relevant agencies to advance the measures and use the findings to support expansion to other areas nationwide.

Thailand's Office of Insurance Commission has extended its model road safety community initiative to two areas in Nakhon Sawan. Communities identified recurring accident risks and proposed infrastructure, traffic management and behavioral measures, while the program also promoted awareness of compulsory motor insurance coverage. The authority will consolidate proposals from six participating communities and coordinate their implementation and wider rollout.
