The Thailand Office of Insurance Commission has issued guidance allowing insurance agents and individual brokers affected by flooding to seek additional time to renew licences expiring from Sept. 25 through Dec. 31, 2026. Eligible intermediaries must file an extension request and renewal application within 15 days after the relevant flood-related disruption ends and no later than Dec. 31. They may not offer insurance policies while their licences are expired and awaiting renewal. The measure mirrors earlier flood-related forbearance for licences expiring between October 2025 and March 2026. Applicants must provide an explanation and supporting evidence of the flood’s impact. Agents must submit documents through their affiliated insurers, while brokers must apply through the Office’s e-Licensing system. Those who could not complete mandatory training must first finish the required course before applying, while insurers and training providers must transmit applicant information through the designated regulatory systems.
