The Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted an event marking the first anniversary of the implementation of the international Women’s Entrepreneurship Finance Code (We-Finance Code) in Uzbekistan, presenting the main first-year deliverables and formalising new member commitments. The first-year outputs include the creation of a National Coalition with 17 participants spanning commercial banks, microfinance institutions and associations, and the development of a National Charter by the Central Bank as national coordinator, described as the first such document in the region under the initiative. The Central Bank also launched a new data platform dashboard with gender-disaggregated financial inclusion indicators for women entrepreneurs, and held a signing ceremony for new Code members including the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the company Hamroh.
