The Malaysia Securities Commission announced the appointment of Kamal Azira Hassan and Adnan Zaylani Mohamad Zahid as Board Members for a two-year term effective 15 February 2026. The appointments were made by the Minister of Finance, and the board is responsible for monitoring the Securities Commission Malaysia’s overall governance with oversight of its regulatory and developmental mandates. Kamal Azira brings more than 25 years’ experience spanning public, constitutional and administrative law, government litigation, international legal affairs, financial governance and regulatory advisory, including senior roles across the Attorney General’s Chambers and other government bodies. Adnan Zaylani is Deputy Governor of Bank Negara Malaysia overseeing Financial Markets and Development, with more than 30 years’ experience in managing international reserves and other public sector funds and in financial sector development policy, and he sits on Bank Negara Malaysia’s Monetary Policy and Financial Stability Committees. Both appointments run until 14 February 2028.

Kamal Azira has extensive legal and regulatory advisory experience, while Adnan Zaylani, Deputy Governor of Bank Negara Malaysia, has expertise in financial markets and development. The Minister of Finance made the appointments to enhance the Commission's governance and oversight.
