The National Bank of the Republic of Tajikistan hosted the fourth meeting of an interagency working group focused on building official statistics for the information and communications technology (ICT) sector and supporting the development of digital product exports, with participation from the Agency for Innovation and Digital Technologies, the Statistical Agency, the Tax Committee, and the Communications Service. Participants discussed data and reporting issues covering ICT product imports and exports, improvements to statistical registers, review of sector statistical codes, timelines for collecting reports, and the prevention of potential crimes in the IT sector. The National Bank signalled support for the initiative and readiness to work with government bodies on coordinating information systems, improving statistical accounting, and developing unified reporting standards, including bringing all ICT companies and individual entrepreneurs into formal registration to improve the reliability and transparency of data for decision-making.
