The Central Bank of the Philippines held its first currency education campaign for the transport sector through a "Safe Currency, Safe Commute" event with GV Florida bus company on 16 July 2026. The seminar trained the company's cashiers, accounting and purchasing personnel, and conductors to distinguish genuine from counterfeit currency, identify unfit banknotes and coins, and handle Philippine money properly. The session also covered the design and security features of New Generation Currency banknotes and coins, the enhanced New Generation Currency banknote series, the First Philippine Polymer Banknote Series, the BSP Coin Series, and the 10-Piso ASEAN commemorative coin.
