The National Bank of the Republic of Tajikistan reported that it held a ceremonial meeting to mark the 29th anniversary of National Unity Day. In remarks at the event, Chairman Firdavs Tolibzoda congratulated staff on the United Nations General Assembly's adoption on 25 June of a resolution proposed by Tajikistan titled International Decade for Strengthening Peace for Future Generations for 2027-2036, and described national unity as a foundation for the country's economic and social development. The meeting centered on the historical, political and social importance of national unity and its role in state-building. In that context, participants were urged to make greater use of scientific and technical advances, introduce modern technologies in the banking system, develop information technology and study foreign languages. A guest speaker from the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan also addressed the event on the significance of national unity, while youth and women representatives from the central bank spoke on its role as a symbol of solidarity, peace and national development.
