The Argentina Securities Commission (CNV) reported that its president, Roberto E. Silva, participated in the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) Board annual meeting in Madrid, acting as the representative of IOSCO’s Inter-American Regional Committee (IARC). The Board discussed IOSCO’s strategy and 2026 work programme, held interactions with the Financial Stability Board (FSB), and exchanged views on market development and FinTech. During the meeting, IOSCO approved for publication reports from the Committee on the Regulation of Market Intermediaries (C3) and the Committee on Investment Management (C5). Silva also attended a session on supervisory technology (SupTech) featuring contributions from IOSCO chair Jean-Paul Servais and the heads of FINMA, the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC), the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and France’s Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF), and met with Spain’s National Securities Market Commission (CNMV). In remarks during the visit, Silva pointed to CNV’s work to align Argentina’s framework with international standards through regulatory modernisation and innovative rules.
