The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission issued a further extension of the compliance date for the February 8, 2024 amendments to Form PF, pushing the deadline for the updated reporting requirements for all filers and large hedge fund advisers to October 1, 2026. In a supporting statement, Commissioner Hester M. Peirce framed the extension as creating space for a substantive review of Form PF and noted that, if substantial questions of fact, law, and policy remain, the Commission could take additional steps that may include proposing new amendments. She also reiterated concerns that Form PF has expanded into broad private market data collection that can be costly for funds, includes sensitive information, and has uncertain utility for the Financial Stability Oversight Council, arguing that a smaller set of key data points may be more informative while reducing confidentiality risks. The amendments’ compliance date had previously been set for March 12, 2025, then extended to June 12, 2025 and again to October 1, 2025, before this latest move to October 1, 2026.
