The Bank of the Lao held an event to present and share its inspection work and activities on anti-corruption and anti-money laundering linked to corruption, as part of commemorations marking International Anti-Corruption Day and related institutional anniversaries. The half-day session was co-chaired by the head of the Bank of the Lao’s Inspection Department and the acting head of the Anti-Corruption and Investigation Department of the State Inspection Authority, with more than 200 participants from the central bank, the State Inspection Authority and other relevant bodies. The stated objectives included reinforcing the Lao PDR’s implementation of the United Nations Convention against Corruption and providing training to banking-sector officials on the significance of International Anti-Corruption Day, the harms posed by corruption and the role of officials in prevention and enforcement.
